According to ESPN, Ava Jones, an Iowa basketball pledge, was critically hurt after being hit by a car on Tuesday evening along with her family.

Following the altercation, police detained Michael Hurley, 33, of Lexington, Indiana, and charged him with four counts of first-degree assault, DUI, and a license possession infraction.
The police report states that Hurley’s car exited the road as he was making a left turn on a downtown street. Per the officers, Hurley claimed to have taken hydrocodone and being “so exhausted that he could not make the turn.”
A GoFundMe Was Created To Assit Jones Family In This Trying Period
In less than a day, a GoFundMe established to assist the family raised more than $65,209. It was intended to raise $10,000 and, at 4 p.m. on Friday, was almost $30,000.
