Sean Serra, a drag racer, has died after he was in an accident late Wednesday night. Hanover County police responded to a single-vehicle collision on Washington Highway.
According to them, a 2006 BMW crossed the center line of Route 1 while traveling north. The driver ran off the road, rolled over, and finally landed on the driver’s side after swerving back into the northbound lanes.
Thus, the collision caused both the driver and the passenger to be ejected from the car. The driver was transported to MCV Hospital, but the passenger was declared dead at the scene. Similarly, the officers did not reveal the extent of the injury the driver had suffered but said he was in critical condition.
On the other hand, the officers had identified the victim as 27 years old Sean Serra of Doswell, who later turned out to be a drag racer. The Sherrif office also paid tribute to him and said he will always be remembered as a legendary competitor in bracket racing.
He had won several large-budget bracket races; his most recent triumph came last weekend in the SFG $20K competition in Martin, Michigan. Many people had congratulated him on his Facebook.
