Following an investigation into accusations of s3xual assault, Hamilton Police s3xual assault detectives reported on Monday that Pastor Bruxy Cavey was detained.
The folksy Bible puncher, who looks like a mix between a farmer and a city bohemian, has previously called the s3xual contacts on social media “an adulterous affair.”

Following an inquiry into claims of s3xual assault, a Hamilton pastor was arrested and prosecuted. On May 31, Hamilton prosecutors charged Bruxy Cavey with a single offense of s3xual assault.
Reportedly, Cavey was the primary preaching pastor at The Meeting House Church from 1996 to 2021, when the alleged assault occurred, according to investigators.
In contrast, Cavey resigned from the church in March, following an external inquiry that determined he had abused his authority and s3xually assaulted a member.
It’s unclear whether the claims in the external inquiry into the church are connected to the criminal case.
Further details, such as the date of the alleged attack and whether it was related to his resignation, were withheld by Hamilton police.

Well-known Canadian pastor and author Bruxy Cavey has resigned from the church he helped grow into a megachurch following an investigation into accusations of s3xual misconduct.
Cavey was the senior pastor of The Meeting House, a congregation based out of Oakville, Ont., with a total of 19 campuses. In December 2021 he had been placed on leave while the church’s board of overseers investigated the claims. On Monday, March 7, Danielle Strickland announced that she would be resigning from her role as teaching pastor at the church “in solidarity with the victim of abuse.”
Strickland’s announcement on social media came as a shock to many congregants who were unaware of the investigation’s findings. Later in the day, the church released a letter to the congregation announcing that Cavey had been asked to resign last week and that they will be holding a town hall meeting on Tuesday, March 8, to discuss the matter.
