Grant, 20, was a 2019 Chaminade Julienne High School graduate who had enrolled at UD to study psychology, according to her obituary.

H. H. Roberts Mortuary, Inc. in Dayton, OH has reported Jayda Grant’s death, however, her previous sickness has not been revealed by her family as of yet.

In a joint statement, UD President Eric Spina and Vice President/Director of Athletics Neil Sullivan said, It is with tremendous grief that we mourn the passing of Jayda Grant on behalf of the entire University of Dayton community.

She is survived by her parents, Anthony and Christina Grant, and brothers A.J., Preston, and Makai Grant.

Jayda Danielle Grant was born in Gainesville, Florida on August 22, 2001. Anthony and Christina Grant had five children: AJ, Preston, Makai, and her heavenly brother, Brandon Harrell. She was her mother’s Mommi and her father’s Baby Girl because she was the only girl. And she was Jay to a lot of her pals.

Jayda excelled in school and developed into a talented writer. She began her passion for reading in Robious Elementary School in Virginia and Holy Spirit Catholic in Alabama, where she attended primary school.

She was a basketball and track athlete at Oklahoma Christian School in Oklahoma City.

She went on to the University of Dayton to study Psychology after graduation. Jayda liked to read, write, spend time with her dogs, and socialize with her friends.
