Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been charged with assault.
The Kansas City Chiefs report that he assaulted a server and restaurant proprietor in Overland Park, Kansas, in late February.
An unnamed 19-year-old waiter claims Jackson shoved him before forcing Aspen Vaughn, the 40-year-old proprietor of Aspen’s Restaurant and Bar, to kiss him.
Aspen Vaughn, the owner of Aspens Restaurant and Longue in Overland Park, Kansas, claims she has a video of Mahomes grasping her neck and kissing her twice.
Police are reviewing security footage from last Saturday night at the business as part of their investigation. One video of the confrontation between Mahomes and Vaughn has been circulating on social media.
Approximately 9:30 pm on February 25, Mahomes and five friends entered the basement office of the restaurant and the waiter tried to grab Mahomes’ water bottle.
After smelling the smell of marijuana wafting from the upper VIP room, Vaughn told the group to quit smoking.
Vaughn then requested a private meeting with Mahomes to discuss the alleged pushing of the waitress. As he joined her in the basement office, Mahomes allegedly grabbed her neck.
Additionally, police informed them that providing a report of the incident or any other information was inappropriate.
According to Jackson Mahomes’ lawyer, Brandan Davies, “Jackson has done nothing wrong.”
