The English actor has a condition known as Ptosis, which is also known as a lazy eye. His eye infection as a child was pretty serious, which left him with right-sided Ptosis, which causes the drooping of the eyelid.

Romesh explained that the condition does not harm him or cause him any pain since only the upper eyelid is affected, and his eye coordination and eyesight are unaffected by this condition.

He was born to parents Ranga and Sivashanthini Ranganathan, who were Sri Lankan Tamil Hindus. Romesh graduated from the University of London studying mathematics.

The comedian started performing stand-up comedy while working as a mathematics teacher in Crawley at Hazelwick School and Beacon School.
