Chef Hans Korompis was 20 years old when he left Singapore and immigrated to the US. He started his job at Salt and Iron after years of working at Tom Douglas restaurants and operating his Chicken Rice stand.
He rose to the all-star position, working every station in the eatery. He is eager for the chance to share fresh seafood from around the globe, with important inspirations from Southeast Asia, Central America, and the Pacific Northwest.
While food is his passion, traveling also came along. He had made Bali, Indonesia, his home. However, the young chef is now said to have left the world.
It is devastating to learn that he has left the world. His family announced the news through his Facebook profile. They said that he had left the world, but they concealed the reason for his death because they did not want to see his name side by side with something horrible that had happened to him.

The chef was survived by his retired parents and two brothers. They were never prepared for this emotionally and financially. They requested $27k of help, citing that Hans’s birth date was also 27.
The money will help them cover the mortgage loans, legal matters, possible relocation, and other unforeseeable costs. Till now, they have been able to collect a $4346 donation.

Was Hans Korompis In An Accident?
Hans Korompis is rumored to have had an accident when he went diving at Mukilteo, WA. His family never heard from him after he went diving.
On July 17, some news reported about an Edmonds man disappearing during a recreational dive. He was not found even after two days and a search of more than 100 square miles of water.
Officials from the Mukilteo police and fire departments responded to a cry for help on Friday at Lighthouse Park, where two divers had gone into the ocean, but only one had returned to shore.
As mentioned in the news source, the Coast Guard said that the weather conditions were bad both in and around the water. The search continued for two days as the rescue team spent several hours using a drone and a boat with sonar to look for the diver.
Following the search on the second day, the Mukilteo Police Department said they could not locate him. It stated that more information would only be provided as the incident progressed. But since then, there has been no news.
The police did not identify the missing diver and only told the public that he was a 33-year-old man from Edmond. Therefore, it is unsure if the victim was Hans or not.
