Gonzalez claims that on the North Freeway close to FM 1960, Ortiz and Greene were involved in a road-rage incident with another vehicle. A 2-year-old boy was in the other car, according to Gonzalez.

According to the public defender, Ortiz reportedly feared for Greene’s well-being when the driver of the car allegedly almost hit Greene while driving away.

The victim had a 2-year-old boy in the car at the time of the shooting, as Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reported. The prosecutors revealed in court that Greene is a combat veteran who served in the Navy and has a 10-year-old son.
When both cars stopped, Greene allegedly got out and assaulted the victim, and Ortiz got captured on cellphone video, firing two shots at the victim with a handgun as he drove off.
