Book by Mike Thomas You Might Remember Me: The Life and Times of Phil Hartman Strain recalled sending a card to her ex-husband, Phil, and Brynn, congratulating them on the birth of their son, Sean Edward, back in 1988.

The comedian was 49 years old when he was shot his own wife. Brynn then drove to her friend’s home and confessed to the killing. The two came back to the house, and she called another friend and admitted to the killing second time.
After the police arrived and escorted Brynn’s friend and her two children from the premises, Brynn locked herself in the bedroom. Shortly afterward, Brynn committed suicide by a self-inflicted gunshot.
