Richard Jonathan Edwin assassinated Kartik Vasudev, a 21-year-old international student from India, and Elijah Eleazar Mahepath, 35, of Toronto.
He has been charged with two charges of first-degree murder. At the time of his arrest, Edwin had a cache of loaded guns within reach, according to police.

Kartik was shot and killed at the Sherbourne subway station around 5 p.m. on April 7. With many gunshot wounds, he was taken to the hospital, where he eventually died.
Elijah was shot many times just before 7 p.m. two days later near the intersection of Dundas Street East and George Street, east of Jarvis Street. He died in the hospital a few hours later.
The suspect, according to police, was a complete stranger to both guys.

Officers discovered five loaded weapons “on the floor next to him” after executing a search warrant for Edwin’s residence, he added.
Edwin had no prior criminal history and was in authorized possession of the firearms, according to Ramer.
Security camera video, according to Det. Sgt. played a crucial part in the investigation. According to him, the footage was able to trail the suspect from his home to the scene of the shooting and then back to his home.
