Zaghari was shortly released in March of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, she was incarcerated for a year for the charges of propaganda activities against the government.
Richard and Nazanin started their hunger strike on 14 June 2019 and ended it 15 days later. They restarted their strike on 24 October 2021 for 21 days.
