Who Is Scott Moir Wife Jaclyn Mascarin? Meet Their Baby Daughter

Scott Moir and his newlywed wife, Jaclyn Mascarin, exchanged their vows in June 2022.

The couple finally went through with their wedding, which got delayed by the COVID-19 outbreak for two years after getting engaged.

They seem to have dated for quite a long before getting engaged in 2019. Although he mentioned having a skating partner before Virtue, he and Mascarin kept their relationship a closely-guarded secret until they went public.

Before collaborating professionally with Virtue, Moir had been ice-dancing with another female, as stated in their joint book, Tessa and Scott: Our Journey from Childhood Dream to Gold.

Virtue’s first skating partner was Moir, and together they finally achieved international recognition.

Following the announcement of his engagement, the 33-year-old Olympic gold medalist moved to Twitter with a humorous tweet looking for a wedding date.

On August 8, 2019, Virtue praised her followers for their warm remarks and joked that she was looking for a +1 for the forthcoming wedding of Scott and Jaclyn.

The Couple Shared Vows Two Years After The Engagement

At the Canada Walk of Fame Hometown Star Ceremony in August 2019, Moir declared his engagement to Jaclyn Mascarin.

Following a postponement due to COVID-19 limitations, the pair finally got married on June 24, 2022.

According to Sports.ru journalist Maya Bagryantseva, three-time ice dance Olympic champion Scott Moir said he had a daughter.

Moir stated in an interview that the infant was born seven months ago. It follows that his daughter may have been born in April 2021.

The baby girl is one year old, and the father has been exceedingly protective of his kid since no posts or photographs of his personal life have been released.

In contrast, he claims that Tessa Virtue, with whom he skated in a duet from 1997 to 2018, became a role model for his daughter in his dreams.

Moir was born into a skating family to his parents, Alma (née MacCormack) and Joe Moir, and was raised in Ilderton, Ontario.

He started skating when he was three years old, and his mother first suggested he try figure skating to help him improve at hockey. He continued to play competitively until his adolescent years.

To work with Igor Shpilband and Marina Zueva, Moir moved to Canton, Michigan, in the United States in 2004. He returned to Ilderton, Ontario, after the 2014 Winter Games.

In the final two years of his amateur career, he and Virtue were coached by Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon in Montreal, Quebec, where he relocated in 2016.

His Brothers Also Had Skated In Past

The youngest of three sons, Moir has two older brothers, Danny Moir and Charlie Moir. He was nurtured in a skating atmosphere, with his mother and aunt being coaches, and both of his elder brothers had skated competitively in the past.

As members of Canada’s NEXXICE team, his cousins Sheri and Cara Moir competed in the 2007 World Synchronized Skating Championships.

Following the 2014 Olympics, Moir ultimately completed his secondary schooling. He attended Medway High School and an electronic learning high school called AMDEC.

Their Retirement After Taking Gold In South Korea

Scott and Tessa decided to step away from the ice for a while, but they could not do so for quite a long time. They genuinely believed retirement was just around the horizon, but they missed skating with each other too much.

Preparing for the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics, they knew it felt natural to return. Instead of feeling obligated to demonstrate their skills, they were skating for them this time.

Being at the top is tough, but Tessa and Scott decided to give up figure skating after taking home the gold in South Korea and concentrating on living their lives off the ice.

After his competitive career ended, Moir worked part-time as a consultant coach with pairs like Lajoie/Lagha.

He also composed choreography for several teams, including Fournier Beaudry/Sorensen and Hubbell/Donohue, and singles skater Nicolas Nadeau.

On February 2, 2021, it was revealed that Moir had been chosen to lead the Ice Academy of Montreal campus opening in London, Ontario’s southwest region, as well as serve as its managing director.

Days later, it was disclosed that Christina Carreira and Anthony Ponomarenko, two members of the American team, would leave Igor Shpilband’s coaching position to train under Moir.

According to the Ice Academy of Montreal, Haley Sales and Nikolas Wamsteeker, two Canadian ice dancers, were revealed to be Moir’s second team on June 16, 2021.
