Stanley Clerveaux, 25, is a Tampa police officer who was arrested on the charge of Solicitation of Prostitution. Clerveaux was hired as a recruit in 2020 and sworn in as an officer in May 2021, according to Tampa Police Chief Mary O’Connor on Wednesday evening.
“To say this is frustrating would be an understatement,” Chief O’Connor remarked. “We chose him as a police recruit scholarship recipient and sworn in as an officer after recognizing his potential.”
“I don’t want this information to overshadow the good job done by the Tampa Police Department. I want the community we serve to know that we uphold the high standards of honesty that they should expect from their public officials.”

Clerveaux has no history of disciplinary action with the TPD, according to the chief. Tampa police reported that he has been stripped of his duties awaiting an internal inquiry.
The TPD has not disclosed any information on what led to Clerveaux’s arrest. The bond for Clerveaux was set at $500, however, he has already bonded out.
People are also assuming him to be a USF football player since the age and the name matched, however, it is not confirmed.
Stanley Clerveaux, An Off-duty Tampa Police Officer Arrested
Stanley Clerveaux, a Tampa police officer was arrested and charged with soliciting prostitutes on Wednesday. Tampa Police Department stated Clerveaux was off-duty when he reportedly solicited prostitutes at Cypress St. and Westshore Blvd.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office apprehended him.
Clerveaux has subsequently been dismissed, according to a representative for Tampa Police. Clerveaux’s mugshot was not accessible at the time this story was written.
Tampa Bay Times questioned O’Connor, who was detained as a junior cop in May 1995 and battled for her job back, if Clerveaux’s position merited a second shot as well.

A second offense, on the other hand, is categorized as a third-degree felony, and if convicted, you may face up to 5 years in jail and a $5,000 fine.
Subsequent solicitation for prostitution charges are classified as second-degree felonies, punishable by up to 15 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
