Who Was Melinda Davis From Sacramento CA? Police Identifies Homeless Victim From The Mass Shooting Incident

Melinda Davis was 57 years old woman who had died in the mass shooting in Sacramento. She didn’t have her own home and had lived on and off the streets of Sacramento for a decade.

Shawn Peter, a guide with the Downtown Sacramento Partnership had known Melinda for fifteen years and had known her as a very sassy lady. Similarly, she was a guest in a daytime center for women and children experiencing Homelessness called Maryhouse.

The Sacramento Loaves and Fishes that operates the Maryhouse program also told the authority that she was looking for a space to live. It is estimated that she was living on the same sidewalk where the shooting took place.

100 shots were heard to be fired during the mass shooting, and twelve people are estimated to be injured while six have died.

Sacramento Police Department identified the victims of the horrific shooting, and their names were revealed on April 4th. Melinda Davis was one of the people killed in the shooting.

She was a homeless woman who lived on the same downtown street as the victim of the shooting. 21-year-old Johntaya Alexander, 38-year-old Sergio Harris, 32-year-old Joshua Hoye-Lucchesi, 21-year-old Yamile Martinez-Andrade, and 29-year-old Devazia Turner are among the other victims.

In the aftermath of the incident, a tiny tribute was held. Candles were lit and flowers were scattered across the area.

Melinda Davis, who was homeless and living on the streets, does not appear to have a family. She also does not appear to be active on social networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.

The public has been horrified by her passing. People on the street have left a letter with a purple flower that reads “Rest in Peace.”
