Samuel Cartwright, a guy, was detained after his seven dogs fatally mauled a 71-year-old man as he was making his way to a nearby convenience shop.
Freddy Garcia, a 71-year-old resident of Fresno, Texas, was attacked by seven dogs on July 18 while walking to a store in his neighbourhood, according to authorities. At around 1:30 p.m., a witness called the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office to report seeing the attack.

The age of Samuel Cartwright is 47. He has been detained and charged with the attack by a pack of dogs that killed a man earlier this week in Fresno.
According to Fort Bend County Sheriff Eric Fagan, the seven pit bull hybrids that killed 71-year-old Fredy Garcia were owned by 47-year-old Samuel Cartwright. Animal Control and sheriff’s deputies managed to capture all seven dogs, all of which are pit bull mixes, according to the sheriff’s office. That afternoon, until all seven dogs were finally taken into custody a few hours later, Fresno residents were placed on high alert.

Cartwright told CNN affiliate KTRK that the dogs don’t belong to him and that he phoned animal control as soon as he saw them on his property. Cartwright was interviewed before being arrested.

Garcia was discovered by responding authorities and promptly flown to Memorial Hermann, a hospital in the heart of Houston. He was later declared dead from wounds sustained during the attack.
Four of the dogs were apprehended soon after the mauling, while three remained at large for an undisclosed amount of time until being apprehended, the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s office reported. Authorities stated that all seven of the dogs were pit bull mixes; however, the animal’s owner was not known at the time.

But on Friday, after a joint investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, Fort Bend Animal Control, and the District Attorney’s Office of Fort Bend County, law enforcement was able to locate and detain 47-year-old Samuel Cartwright concerning the mauling death of Garcia.

Fredy Garcia, a 71-year-old man, was reportedly Samuel Cartwright’s victim. Speaking of the case update, Samuel is accused of a second-degree felony and an attack by a dog that resulted in death. Police have confirmed that the bond for Cartwright, who is still being held at the Fort Bend County Jail, is $100,000.
Sheriff Eric Fagan of Fort Bend County is appreciative that the dogs have been taken off the streets and that another potential assault has not taken place. “This terrible catastrophe wasn’t necessary. I send my condolences to Mr Garcia’s family and his neighbours as they cope with his passing “said Sheriff Fagan.
