Who Were Anne Frank’s Parents? Otto Frank And Edith Frank

Otto and Edith Frank’s daughter, Anne Frank, was born. In 1889, Otto was born in Frankfurt, Germany. He was the second of four kids and was raised in a prosperous and powerful Jewish household.

Otto received a good education and excelled in business, eventually taking over the family bank after his Father’s death.

Edith Frank was born in Aachen, Germany, in 1900. She was the youngest of three children and grew up in a middle-class Jewish family. Edith received a good education and worked as a teacher before marrying Otto in 1925.

However, the rise of the Nazi Party in Germany seriously threatened the Frank family’s safety and well-being. In 1933, Otto and Edith fled to the Netherlands to escape persecution. 

In Amsterdam, Anne began writing in her famous diary, which would later be published as “The Diary of Anne Frank.”

Tragically, Otto and Edith’s efforts to protect their family were unsuccessful. In 1944, the Franks were arrested and deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland.
