Anthony Pickering Baby Murder Trial – Anthony Pickering allegedly struck his son in the head many times, resulting in multiple head wounds, before passing away in the hospital. The High Court has been trying him for murder, thus the judge has not found him guilty.
Pickering is the father of Poseidyn Hemopo Pickering from Manurewa, Auckland. The police department arrested him, accused of causing catastrophic head injuries to his son in September 2020. However, Anthony has denied the accusations since the first day.
On the other hand, he has been on trial at the High Court in Auckland and facing a jury at the current date. The prosecutor accused Anthony of assaulting his son, causing the fatal head fractures which caused his death.
Nonetheless, Anthony denied the accusation and told Poseidyn hit his head on the windowsill, causing head injuries. Further, Anthony mentioned to the investigating officer he heard a noise from the windowsill, and Poseidyn dozed off to sleep.
Who Is Anthony Pickering from Manurewa?
Anthony Pickering got accused of murdering his son in September 2020. He allegedly banged his son’s head, causing multiple head fractures, and died the following day.
However, Anthony has opposed the prosecutor’s accusation since the initial day. On the other hand, the prosecutor claimed that he told two family members that he struck his son due to outrage over his partner.
In addition, the prosecutor described that Anthony argued with his partner about Poseidyn’s paternity two days before Poseidyn’s death. Anthony was living with his partner Filoi Haukau and their two children.
Anthony Pickering Baby Murder Trial- What Happened?
Anthony Pickering has been facing the murder trial at the High Court in Auckland. He has been facing a jury and Justice at the current date. Todd Simmonds prosecuted the case against him as he opened the murder case to the jury.
Further, Simmonds has issued multiple accusations against Anthony during the trial. In addition, professor Johan Duflou testified on Poseidyn’s injuries in the High Court at Auckland, where he mentioned that the injuries were not necessarily favored the accidental injures.
In addition, Defence lawyers Stewart and Quentin Duff have defended Anthony in court, where they have presented some testimonies during the case. They asked the clinical psychologist Nick Lascelles to testify about medical possibilities.
Nonetheless, the jury has not announced the verdict at the current date as both prosecutor and defendant close the trial on Wednesday, and people have expected the judgment on Thursday.
Anthony Pickering’s Wife & Daughter
Anthony Pickering was living with his wife and daughter in the family home in Manurewa, Auckland. In particular, they had a ten months son and a two-year-old daughter from their relationship.
His wife, Filoi Haukau, left her son Poseidyn on the bed for seventeen minutes and found him sleeping after she returned to see him. However, Anthony asked Filoi to call the ambulance for Poseidon when she returned after an hour.
