However, that is untrue for Jayland Walker, who died at the hands of police, the body cam footage and shooting video is going viral in the news media.
Jayland is a 25-year-old black man who was killed last week. He was shot 60 times when he was unarmed. Walker was unarmed at the moment but was running away from the police. The killing occurred on 27th June 2022. The people within the communities are enraged by the action of cops.
People are demanding justice against the police who were involved in killing the young black man who was fearing for his life during the chase of the police. The body camera shows the pursuit of cops and their impulsive decision to shoot, which resulted in the individual’s death.

According to the Body cam footage and shooting video, it is clear that the police used excessive force to subdue the individual. He did not seem to have probable cause for cops to act in such a way. The video shows the sound of the shot had gone in the car, which resulted in police being cautious of the individual.
They seemed concerned about Jayland possessing the gun; thus, after seven minutes of the chase and the suspicious release of a gunshot, police continued their pursuit until Walker opened the car door with a ski mask on his face and ran away from the cops. However, his run was short-lived as every police chased him and fired 60 gunshots, which resulted in his death.
Moreover, the cam and shooting videos show the explicit use of brute force and authority to subdue the suspect without minimal pressure. The reason for stopping the suspect is traffic misconduct where excessive chase with two or more squadron cars was unnecessary.

The unnecessary death of Walker, which was frankly horrific to witness, is the main reason for the protest. The black community had been facing police violence and killing significantly despite the awareness from various protests and media.
People in the protest are demanding justice for Mr. Walker and overcoming the unjust police system that profiling black people and leads them to claim innocent lives. Thus, people demand accountability from the cops engaged in such a horrific incident.
Similarly, the police chief has stated they plan to release all the body cam footage. Also, more than 100 participants were actively protesting outside due to the action of cops. The demonstrators marched towards the City hall after politicians failed to fulfill the community goal.
How Did Jayland Walker Die?
Jayland died after suffering 60 gunshots from the police. His death was unfortunate as Jayland was yet to experience new avenues in his life. The misfire or firing in the car seems to have escalated action between cops and Jayland.

Jayland feared the repercussions, whereas cops feared for the weapon within him. However, it is unjustifiable why cops were shooting back at the suspect with teamwork rather than using non-violent methods such as tasers and other efforts.
Furthermore, it was revealed that Jayland only bought the gun after the death of his girlfriend. He did not seem to have any idea about the workings of the weapon, which resulted in his probable misfiring in his vehicle. It was also revealed that Jayland lacked training and knowledge to use the gun.
