He was designated temporary Director of Recreation in November 2014, in addition to Golf, then Director of the newly amalgamated department of Recreation and Golf Services in June 2015.

The claims arose after the publication of a video showing Roger Miller, the city’s Director of leisure and golf services, and his wife, Sandra Miller, walking away from the person filming the video in a parking garage.

The pair allegedly made racist comments before recording, including accusations about Chinese people spreading COVID-19, according to the video’s uploader, who claimed the event happened this weekend in Newport Beach.

“Yeah, maybe, could be,” the pair says as they hop into their car.

The United States of America is a free country. Return to China.” The couple said. As they drive away, Miller flashes his middle finger.

Sandra Miller was fired from her employment at Linfield Christian School, a K-12 school in Temecula, according to a statement put on the school’s website Monday morning.

“We are aware of the video concerning Ms. Sandra Miller,” the school said in a statement.

Linfield has promptly terminated Ms. Miller’s employment after speaking with her about the event.

Ms. Miller’s views do not reflect Linfield’s principles, are incompatible with the university’s mission statement and fall short of the behavior that Linfield wants its staff to exhibit for its students.”
