The call to dispatch occurred shortly after 4 p.m., with callers reporting multiple gunshots near 1st Ave S and S Lander St.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man in his 30s with injuries from a vehicle collision. He was subsequently transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

According to investigators, the victim had been engaged in a road rage incident in the 2200 block of 4th Ave with a suspect vehicle. The suspect pursued the victim, ultimately firing at him.

Attempting to evade the situation, the victim fled from his truck to the nearby Starbucks Headquarters on Utah Ave. The intensity of the road rage and subsequent shooting prompted a temporary lockdown of the building.

Starbucks spokesperson Sam Jefferies confirmed to FOX 13 that the lockdown was eventually lifted, assuring the safety of all employees. Concerns were expressed by workers and witnesses in the area, with one Starbucks Reserve employee stating, “This area is becoming a little sketchy.”

Terry Houser, an eyewitness, recounted seeing both vehicles speeding by on Occidental Ave S. “They are flying by at 50 mph,” he said. “Then I heard four gunshots.”

The suspect vehicle, with two men inside, fled the scene, and as of now, no suspect or vehicle descriptions are available.
