Premier Sihle Zikalala of KZN has charged Ngizwe Mchunu with criminal injuria and assault. The event occurred during the Ingoma kazwelonke competition in Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium.
According to Mabaso, Mchunu aggravated the situation on Saturday when he walked into the private area where the premier was seated and began “hurling insults.”

Colonel Athlenda Mathe, a police spokesman, said officers were looking into two crimes that had been reported to the Durban Central police station.
According to the SABC, Mchunu purported to be the first to file a criminal complaint against Zikalala for alleged assault at the Durban Central police station.
Assault Charges Against Ngizwe Mchunu And Sihle Zikalala
Both Ngizwe Mchunu and Sihle Zikalala have filed criminal charges against each other, as per the sources.
According to SABC, Mchunu said he was the first to file a criminal complaint against Zikalala for alleged assault at the Durban Central police station.
Mchunu had allegedly verbally abused Zikalala on several occasions recently, per Zikalala.

Per the SABC, Mchunu argued that statements made against Zikalala were part of political discourse. He further stated that when Zikalala attacked him first, he responded.
Further, Mchunu was also allegedly assaulted by a premier during an Ingoma music event. The actual event took place in the VIP tent.

The arrests of Ngizwe Mchunu and Sihle Zikalala have not been reported in the internet media. The probe is still ongoing since both parties have filed charges against each other.
Furthermore, the Premier’s office informed the media that Muchunu entered the VIP area and began hurling obscenities at Zikalala.
