According to a news release from the sheriff’s office on Thursday, Kristen McAllister, a teacher at Tabb High School, was detained after the sheriff’s office received a report of inappropriate contact between a teacher and students.
She faces two felony counts of indecent liberties with a kid by a person in custody or supervisory connection, as well as two misdemeanor counts of contributing to a minor’s delinquency.
According to York County education division superintendent, Victor Shandor, Tabb High School, and York County school division administrators were notified of an allegation of unprofessional conduct by a school employee involving a juvenile. The claim was immediately turned over to law authorities, according to Shandor.
In Tabb High School’s online employee directory, McAllister is identified as an English teacher. Shandor said she won’t be permitted on school district premises while the inquiry is continuing.
Teacher Arrested Over Abuse On Student
Kristen McAllister, a 32-year-old York County woman, was arrested and charged with two felony counts of taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory relationship and two misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office has not released any additional information but stated the investigation began when they received a tip of a teacher having inappropriate contact with pupils.
After receiving a report about a suspected contact between McAllister and pupils, YPSO deputies launched an inquiry.
The sheriff’s office claims to have only identified one victim of the alleged offenses, which occurred in the second half of 2021.
