Martin Scorsese Reveals His Next Movie Will Be About Jesus While Meeting Pope Frances

Martin Scorsese has announced the next movie he will soon begin working on!

On Saturday (May 27), the 80-year-old Oscar-winning director met with Pope Frances at the Vatican in Italy where he announced that his plans to start working on a movie about Jesus.

“I have responded to the Pope’s appeal to artists in the only way I know how: by imagining and writing a screenplay for a film about Jesus,” Martin reportedly shared during the conference in Rome, Variety reports. “And I’m about to start making it.”

As of right now, Martin hasn’t shared any other details about the upcoming movie.

Martin‘s announcement comes several days after he premiered his new movie Killers of the Flower Moon at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

The movie – starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, and Robert De Niro – will be released on October 8. Watch the trailer here!
