But just two months on, a new photo of the US star, known for hits including I Wanna Love You Forever, has supporters concerned.

A snap on her Instagram page shows Jessica in an all-black ensemble – rocking platform-heeled boots and an oversized pair of shades.

It wasn’t her outfit that had fans talking – some struggled to recognise the slimmed-down star.

“What happened with her omg,” one fan wrote alongside a crying emoji, while another asked: “Are you ok?”

“Her face looks super thin, I hope she’s ok,” another concerned well-wisher wrote.

Others on Jessica’s feed just said: “No”.

Another fan said they loved Jessica whatever her look, but added that they particularly liked curves.

“Always beautiful, curvy or thin. I loved you and your curves. Looked like a very healthy role model,” the fan wrote.

“I know you work hard to be thin and the industry loves thin, but you and your curves were gorgeous.”

Speaking to Hollywood Life, celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak revealed: “She would eat one whole egg and three egg whites for breakfast, scrambled with a bowl of blackberries\

Jessica has since admitted she can’t stand eggs except in cakes – the diet was heavy on the eggs and egg-whites, offering Simpson a low-calorie source of protein.

Speaking to Hollywood Life, celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak revealed:

“She would eat one whole egg and three egg whites for breakfast, scrambled with a bowl of blackberries. For lunch she would have a salad with grilled chicken and grilled fish with salad and vegetables for dinner.”

“As for snacks, she would have almonds and sometimes green beans with Parmesan cheese on top. She was very disciplined,” he added.

Simpson last year sparked concern she’d gotten too skinny as she slipped into a 14-year-old pair of True Religion jeans and kissed her thirties goodbye. The star has also herself opened up on her food philosophies, stating:

“I personally don’t stay away from foods if I want something, I’ll have some of it, but I’m good at putting it down. I mean, listen, I have kids, so if I want, I eat like a kid. I like corn dogs and mac and cheese – you don’t limit yourself.”

Food also features heavily in promos for the blonde’s Jessica Simpson Style line. Last year, it was Jessica whipping up cake batter on the floor while in high heels – she also donned stilettos for a spaghetti-slurping shoot as she modeled one of her brand’s super-cute and bodycon dresses. Simpson, of course, sells her gym wear like hot cakes – unsurprising, when the promos show the bombshell poolside and doing sunset yoga in spandex outfits that are now flying off shelves.

Jessica’s booze battle

Jessica’s transformation has been ongoing since November 2017.

That’s when she was shocked into action by a photo of her taken in the early hours of the morning.

In the picture, Jessica – dressed in a pink tracksuit – appears bloated and with glassy eyes.

Posting the snap on Instagram to her 5.6 million followers in November 2021, Simpson said at the time that her years of boozing had left her “exhausted” but that the photo had been a turning point in life.

Speaking previously about the moment she decided to turn her life around, Jessica told followers she had “so much self-discovery to unlock and explore”.

 

“I knew in this very moment I would allow myself to take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self-respect, and brave this world with piercing clarity,” the mother of three wrote.

“Personally, to do this I needed to stop drinking alcohol because it kept my mind and heart circling in the same direction, and quite honestly I was exhausted.

“I wanted to feel the pain so I could carry it like a badge of honour.

“I wanted to live as a leader does and break cycles to advance forward – never looking back with regret and remorse over any choice I have made and would make for the rest of my time here within this beautiful world.”

The actress told fans the drinking wasn’t her issue, but that she “did not love herself”.

Jessica has since lost more than 45kg after walking 14,000 steps a day and following a strict diet.
