The Toronto Sun reported that the crew paid around $300 per night for the shooting of the first episode of the season in Trent Lakes, Canada.
The second season was also filmed in Southern Ontario, including Trent Lakes, Trent Hills, Minden, Blue Mountain, Collingwood, and Kawartha Lakes.
Additionally, the third season of the show featured 12 episodes and was released on April 15, 2021.
According to McGillivray, the third season of the series was the most challenging.
It’s the biggest project that we’ve ever taken on during one of the most challenging times and the most episodes we’ve ever done. The reason I’m excited is that people are getting great ideas and acquiring dream vacation properties and having a way to afford them.”

The fourth season of Scott’s Vacation House Rules premiered on June 3, 2023, with a total of 10 episodes. McGillivray and the crew continued to renovate properties around Ontario City.
A team member purchased a lakeside cabin and transformed it into a modern residence in the first episode. The crew then transformed many more rental properties in Southern Ontario throughout the season.
Likewise, on September 9, 2023, the host of Scott’s Vacation House Rules, Debra Salmoni, posted a picture of McGillivray on her Instagram and announced that part 2 of the fourth season had aired.
Salmoni expressed her deep gratitude for being a part of the series. “The team, the homeowners, the designs, locations, and most importantly, Scott. It’s gold. Top shelf in every way.”
Furthermore, she revealed that she designed the episode with all her hard work and dedication and hoped the viewers of the show would be interested in watching the upcoming 7 episodes of season four.
Fans and followers responded, saying, “You guys are the best … so much fun watching your show!!! It’s more than a design show,” and “Favorite show!”.”

Sabrina McGillivray and Scott McGillivray have been happily married for many years
While on vacation, Scott and Sabrina met for the first time and had an instant connection.
In June 2009, the couple exchanged vows in the presence of close friends and family members after being in a relationship for several years.
After more than a decade of marriage, Scott and Sabrina welcomed two daughters into the world. The oldest, Myah, was born in January 2012, and the youngest, Layla, was born in October 2013.
Their daughter has a smile on her face ever since the television personality and his wife welcomed her into their lives.
His children are consistently featured on social media. He shared a picture of his wife and two daughters on Mother’s Day 2020, captioning it, “Thank you for being such a great mother and role model to our daughters. No matter what the situation, you keep us all on track. I never cease to be amazed by you!”
Similarly, in an interview with HGTV in 2022, he expressed his appreciation for fatherhood, saying the most beautiful aspect is spending time with his children.

Through challenges such as the pandemic and financial difficulties, they stood by each other, strengthening their bond.
