Dateline: Was Missing Christina Morris Found Alive Or Dead?
Christina Morris disappeared on 30 August 2014. She was last seen alive on security footage in The Shops at Legacy in Plano.
Steven Nickerson, one of Christina Morris’ friends, told Josh Mankiewicz of Dateline how the latter decided to drive home at around 3:30 am on 30 August 2014.
According to Nickerson, Morris and a group of friends drank in Plano, Texas. She decided to drive as she was not much drunk.
But, the footage showed the 23-year-old entering the affluent suburban shopping center’s parking garage with her friend, Enrique Arochi.
Morris had moved to Fort Worth and was returning to the city for Labor Day weekend.
CCTV footage captured Morris and Arochi after a night out at 3:55 am.
Three minutes later, Arochi’s car, a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, was spotted leaving the parking garage, but Christina was never seen again.
Three days later, Police found her vehicle in the same garage.
Was Christina Morris Boyfriend Hunter Foster Arrested?
Investigators’ initial suspect was Christina Morris’ boyfriend, Hunter Foster. He was reportedly uncooperative during the investigation but later provided a solid alibi.
Foster even gave the names of two people he said he was out with on the night of Christina’s disappearance. Authorities ruled him out as a suspect after further inquiry.
Later, mobile tower data turned things over.
Police discovered that Morris and Arochi’s phones were still nearby one hour later; he left the parking lot in his 2010 Chevrolet Camaro on the day the former went missing.
Subsequently, detectives found a mat in Arochi’s car with Morris’ DNA in his car trunk.
Three months later, Police captured him based on the evidence and charged him with aggravated kidnapping.
The trial for Arochi’s case began in September 2016.
Taking into account the prosecution’s evidence, a jury convicted him guilty of aggravated kidnapping in the 2014 disappearance of Christina Morris after 17 hours of deliberation.
By arguing that the evidence was circumstantial and lacking “proof of what, when, where, or how,” his defense attempted to refute the prosecution’s case.
Enrique Arochi was convicted of the charges brought against him during the trial and received a life sentence.
However, there were still no signs of the missing person or her body. So, Police continued to search Christina’s body.
Christina Morris Skeletal Remains Were Found In A Wooded Area In 2018
Two years after his sentence, in March 2018, construction workers in Anna, Texas, found Christina Morris’ skeletal remains.
Andy Mitchell, a team member who discovered the remains, spotted the skull close to what seemed to be a woman’s dress and undergarments while trimming shrubs.
Before the discovery, Enrique Arochi consistently insisted on his innocence. He even said Christina Morris was still alive, and his conviction was unjust.
