The 2021-22 season will see the Premier League’s Big Six renew hostilities and with all to play for once again after a highly eventful last campaign.
Manchester City romped to the title but lost to Chelsea in the Champions League final, Manchester United finally mounted a title challenge – until spring anyway – and Arsenal and Tottenham were in turmoil… and there is still simmering resentment that all six clubs tried to break away and form a European Super League.
Two of the biggest clubs in England will be pitched in against each other on the opening day of the new season too, with champions Manchester City travelling to Tottenham, with the latter desperate to prove they still deserve to be considered among the elite.
The same applies to Arsenal, who finished one place below their greatest rivals in a lowly eighth last season, and the first north London derby of the new term takes place on September 25 at the Emirates Stadium.
The first clash of the titans – reigning Premier League champions City against Champions League winners Chelsea – will be in the same game week. The return fixture will be on January 15.

Manchester United and Liverpool will clash on October 23 in England’s biggest rivalry

The biggest clash in English football historically – Manchester United vs Liverpool – will take place on October 23 and March 19.
The first Manchester derby of the season will be at Old Trafford on November 6.
There could be potentially decisive clashes between Big Six rivals towards the end of the season too, with the standout game coming when United host Chelsea in their penultimate game on May 15 when both sides could realistically be chasing title glory.
