Karen Chen is a national champion figure skater from the United States.
In 2005, she began skating. She has won numerous awards and honors, including two bronze medals in the CS U.S. Classic (2016 and 2017), a bronze medal in the 2015 CS Golden Spin of Zagreb, and a silver medal in the 2022 U.S. national competition.
Karen competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics, seven ISU Championships, and two World Championships for her country.
Likewise, she will represent the U.S. in Beijing 2022, hoping for a comeback from the disappointing finish at the 2018 Pyeongchang event. The Winter Olympics will begin on 4 February.

Hsiu-Hui Tseng and Chih-Hsiu Chen are the parents of Karen Chen.
Apart from their identity, there isn’t much about them online. Nonetheless, Karen was born on 16 August 1999 in Fremont, California. Likewise, her mom seems to be a good skater herself, judging from Karen’s Instagram posts. She even credits her for teaching her one-foot glide.
Since both her father and mother are Taiwanese immigrants, she has mixed ethnicity.
Apart from her parents, Karen also has a brother, Jeffre, in her family. Her younger sibling also represents the U.S. in ice dance competitions.

Karen Chen is a professional figure skater.
As of 15 December 2021, the ISU Women’s singles ranking places her at the 7th position.
Karen began ice skating at the young age of 4 and competing two years later. In high school, she did homeschooling through Connections Academy. As part of the 2023 class, she enrolled in Cornell University’s School of Human Ecology with Human Biology, Health, and Society major.
At the 2017 U.S. National Championship, she set a record score of 72.85 in the short program. Likewise, she ended the 2021 World Championships in fourth place.
Her mentor, Kristi Yamaguchi, is the 1992 Olympic Champion. Likewise, Tammy Gambill is her coach.

In addition to skating, Karen likes painting. She is also the author of the memoir, Finding the Edge: My Life on the Ice. Through the 2017 book, she disclosed her suffering from spondylolisthesis, a back pain-causing spinal condition.
Despite loving her sport, she hates when she falls. Nonetheless, she acknowledges that mistakes are what have made her.
Karen’s favorite movie stars are Jennifer Lawrence, Angelina Jolie, and Jennifer Aniston.
