In December, a Montgomery County jury found Huger guilty of driving under the influence, negligent driving, failing to control her speed to avoid a collision, and not notifying authorities of a change of address.

During the sentencing, Huger expressed her remorse to the court and the police involved in her arrest, describing her actions as a “mirror of brutal clarity.”

Despite her request for leniency, Judge Terrence McGann stressed the gravity of her situation, pointing out that this was her fourth DUI offense. Huger’s defense team emphasized her dedication to sobriety and rehabilitation, but the judge insisted that her past warranted a substantial sentence.

As part of her punishment, Huger will spend one year in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. After her release, she will be prohibited from driving for one year and will be placed on five years of supervised probation, during which she must use an ignition interlock device. Additionally, she is required to pay $2,900 in fines.

Huger’s family, including her husband Raymond and their children, were present at the sentencing to offer their support.

Her attorney, David Martella, mentioned that Huger has come to terms with the decision and has been diligently working on her recovery, expressing gratitude that this chapter is now behind her.
