It’s understood that Singh, fondly known as Shebby among his peers, died as a result of a heart attack.
An ex-footballer who played for Malaysia from 1982 to 1991, Singh was introduced to his role at Rovers in 2012 and remained at the club until Gary Bowyer’s appointment as first-team manager.
In Singh’s sole Championship campaign as global advisor, Rovers had gone through three managers, finished 17th and only avoided relegation on the penultimate Saturday.
Upon leaving Rovers he took up a new role in Malaysia and continued his football punditry, working on behalf of Astro SuperSport, FoxSports and ESPN Asia.
