World Cup squad announcement LIVE: Rob Page set to reveal his 26-man party to take to Qatar as Wales prepare for their first showing at football’s grandest stage since 1958… while reigning champions France will also name their team.
Huge day for Wales

In just 12 days time, Wales will be opening their World Cup campaign against the United States at the Al Rayyan Stadium.

Today’s squad announcement meanwhile is being held at Tylorstown Welfare Hall – probably not as famous as the Empire State Building where the US will announce their team.

Tickets have been sold for tonight’s squad announcement, with proceeds going towards the upkeep of the Welfare Hall, which suffered extensive flood damage during Storm Dennis.

Tylerstown is the home of Wales manager Rob Page meanwhile and not far from Pentre – where their 1958 coach Jimmy Murphy was from.

It’s a huge day for Welsh football after 64 years of failing to qualify for the tournament and they will be hoping to cause an upset in Qatar much like they did in Euro 2016.

Gareth Southgate will also be keeping a close eye on the Wales squad ahead of the home nations clash with England on November 29.

Good evening

And welcome all to Sportsmail’s live blog as both Wales and France get set to announce their squads for the World Cup in Qatar.

It is a momentous night for Welsh football, as Rob Page announces the players who will represent their country at football’s grandest stage – ahead of their first appearance at the competition in 64 years.

They are expected to announce their squad shortly after 7pm, around about the same time that France will name their team for Qatar.

France are the defending champions but are missing some of the key players that ensured their triumph in Russia.

Sportsmail’s Kieran Lynch with you tonight and I’ll be bringing you all the build-up to the squad announcements in about two hours time.
