A Texas family’s temporary stay with friends turned into a horrific tragedy when two young girls discovered their mother lifeless in bed.

Their father, Josue Bayardo Rodas, is accused of murdering his wife before fleeing the scene. Here’s the latest on this heartbreaking case.

A Fatal Night After Drinking

The couple had been drinking with a housemate on the night of August 27. The renter retired around 10 or 11 p.m., while the homeowner arrived later and noted the pair was still drinking before she went to bed at 1:30 a.m.

According to the arrest affidavit:
“The renter was purportedly hanging out and drinking with Rubio and Rodas that Friday.”

Tragically, just a few hours later, the situation escalated into violence.

Children Discover Their Mother’s Body

The next morning at 7 a.m., the two daughters, aged 4 and 6, woke the homeowner. They were worried about their mother, who had blood on her. The woman found Glenda Aguilera Rubio on her kitchen bed with visible injuries.

The court documents state:
“The woman was awakened by the couple’s daughters… asking her to check on their mom because she had blood on her.”

The front door was open, and both Rodas and the family car were gone.

Father Flees the Scene and Confesses

Surveillance footage captured a vehicle similar to the family’s car driving away around 4 a.m. Rodas allegedly fled approximately 200 miles to a gas station, where he contacted authorities and confessed.

He told police at the scene:
“I’ve committed a homicide in Fort Worth.”

This call led to his arrest by Sweetwater Police, who then transported him back to Tarrant County.

Legal Consequences and Ongoing Case

Josue Bayardo Rodas has been charged with murder and is currently held at the Tarrant County Correctional Center. His bond has been set at $500,000 as the legal process continues.
