Mark Evers, aged 65, has been identified as the body by coroner Dr. Russell Uptegrove. According to the coroner, Evers suffered at least one gunshot wound before passing away. Later on Wednesday, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office will conduct his autopsy.

Relating to the police officer from Clearcreek Township who was shot while on duty last night, still hope is there. The officer is still in the ICU and is still breathing on his own, according to the Chief, but he does have a long road to recovery.

According to the chief, the man shot one of the responding police in the head before being shot and killed by a female cop. He stated that the wounded cop was a 14-year veteran of the department. A female officer, who was promoted to sergeant in March is the one who shot the man. Since 2008, she has worked for the department.
