Lauren Bernett Death Cause & Obituary – What Happened To Her? – Lauren Bernett, a sophomore softball catcher for JMU, died Tuesday morning, according to a JMU Athletics statement.

Lauren Bernett was born in the small town of McDonald, Pennsylvania. She played softball at JSU.

Lauren Bernett Death Cause & Obituary – What Happened To Her?

Lauren Bernett has passed away. She was a standout player on the JMU softball team and a fantastic representative of JMU and the athletics program. As a freshman catcher, she was a vital element of our 2021 Women’s College World Series squad last year.

She was named to the VaSID All-State Second Team as a freshman. Against Liberty (5/21) she had a season-high 18 putouts. In the Columbia Super Regional Finals (5/30), she went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

The JMU family is devastated to have lost one of our own.

Lauren hit three home runs, including one in the championship game versus Liberty (5/23) at the Knoxville Regional. She had a season-high three hits against George Washington on February 27.

She was also named CAA Rookie of the Week (3/2) after hitting four home runs, two of which were doubles, in JMU’s first weekend at the Cavalier Classic.

 Lauren Bernett’s cause of death has not been revealed yet. The sad news was announced by JMU President Jonathan Alger.

They wrote on Twitter, “The JMU family is devastated to have lost one of our own. All our love and support are with Lauren’s family, her @JMUSoftball community, and all those who knew her.”

She was a four-year varsity letter winner before coming to JMU. She was also a runner-up at the TCS East Coast Summer Nationals in 2018.

Lauren was a member of Team Pennsylvania Fastpitch and has been playing 18u since her freshman year.

Lauren Bernett could be in her 20s. She was Scott and Kim Bernett’s daughter. She was born into a sporting family. Her mother was a softball player at Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, D.C.

She was the youngest of four siblings, with two brothers and two sisters. She was also a National Honor Society member. Lauren intended to major in Biology and minor in Pre-Veterinary Medicine.
