Debonet then got out of his car, angrily broke the driver’s side mirror of the other vehicle, and speeded off. According to the officials, the incident was not over, and the NYPD cop returned to the other driver’s house.
He furiously pointed a gun in the other driver’s father’s face and threatened him. After the incident, the officials arrested and suspended him from the NYPD without pay, as stated by a police spokesperson.

There Debinet was issued an order of protection and got released without bail. The officer’s lawyer and the Police Benevolent Association did not respond immediately to calls for comment.

Thirty-two years old Douglas Debonet was charged with criminal mischief and menacing with a weapon, according to the court records. The cop was arraigned in Suffolk First District Court, where an order of protection was issued, and he got released without bail.
The officer works out of the 110th Precinct in Queens. A police spokesperson stated that Debonet has served the department for ten years since 2012 and has been suspended from the NYPD following the Long Island incident.
