Update: Missing Boater Maryland Ernie Sigmon – Ernie Sigmon was the man who went missing on December 29, 2021, while fishing. His body was found today after six months of extensive search.

The news of his death has saddened his family and well-wishers citing his sad disappearance. His friends and family had put up search plead on social media that nearly guaranteed his reappearance but alas, his dead body tells otherwise.

Similarly, his search investigation conclusion has garnered nationwide attention as the investigators’ hard work with the use of modern technology.

Update: Missing Boater Maryland Ernie Sigmon – Body Found In Choptank River

Ernie Sigmon’s body was recovered by the concerned authority after conducting six months-long investigations for his search.

The search involved an underwater imaging sonar technology, and Sigmon’s dead body was found around 11 am on June 20 in Choptank River.

Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) said Monday that a concerned citizen called to report they had found the victim’s body. NRP has reported that further investigations are ongoing, including the medical reports on Sigmon’s death.

The family of Sigmon has been notified of the recent updates on the missing case. Meanwhile, his father, Ernest Sigmon, Jr., posted a Facebook statement stating his thanks and support to every volunteer and the investigating authority.

Ernie Sigmon III was a native of Maryland. He was an experienced boater who enjoyed fishing and spent his days enjoying these two activities.

Sadly, his plans of enjoying fishing while boating went in vain as he and the vessel disappeared. While the boat was recovered later, Sigmon’s body was retrieved much later.

He was a family man with a wife and two children. He is survived by his two children, Bella and Ernie Sigmon IV, who have been actively interacting with the media. They had vowed to keep up the search until he was found.

Sigmon’s search was fueled by a Facebook group asking for volunteers to help Sigmon’s family search for him. The page titled, Bring Ernie Home has more than 13,000 members. Netizens posted prayers daily that he would be found and were still reporting on the areas they’d searched as recently as Sunday per the Chesapeake Bay.
