On Saturday, emergency responders received a distress call at around 2:20 pm about Cody Bunn and John Vanderhaar.
The 32-year-old Bluewater resident, Cody Bunn, was brought to shore, but despite efforts to revive him, he was declared dead.
It was during the rescue that a 47-year-old volunteer firefighter named John Vanderhaar, also from Bluewater, suffered a medical emergency. He was rushed to the Goderich hospital but unfortunately died there.
