What Is The 10K Summer Break Challenge On Tiktok?

10K Summer Break is the newest trend taking the TikTok world by storm. It is basically a challenge that asks all the big creators with the privilege to go on a break until September 22nd and let the minorities boom their content.

It has been a worldwide problem where is a notion that the whites get an upper hand when it comes to gaining attention, at least a first glance for what they present online. This is also a trial version where people think when the blacks get to take over social media, they will gain the deserved notice.

Tory Bae, an Asian who is at 103.7k followers on TikTok, started the trend of it. Her video says “If you are a white liberal or consider yourself to be a white ally, I have a challenge for you.” which has now garnered over 66k views.

She sarcastically says that as every day is a day for whites, it’s like for them to get exhausted. They require a much-needed break until September 22nd and ask them to sit back, relax and get out of the center to let the indigenous take the front seat.

The particular content has been received in both positive and negative ways. While many are cool about what she said and are actually taking a part in it, there are others who find it completely illogical.

The New Vacation Trend – How Are The Creators Reacting?

The vacation trend has been getting mixed reviews. TikTok creator, Jordan Simone says that a lot of the white allies are not exactly what they claim to be. She further rants about how the summer challenge was a necessity.

To this, there is a netizen commenting that it was completely unfair to impose their challenge on someone else. There are people who use TikTok to pay their bills and it is not possible for them to stop working.

On the contrary, another one writes that a lot of so-called allies were disappointing. They sincerely believe that they’re doing the right thing but can’t handle an actual sacrifice.

One interesting comment says, If we aren’t willing to sacrifice anything for our principles, they are not principles they’re conditions. Hmm… isn’t this something to ponder on?

To white women talking about why they refuse to participate in the challenge, Tory says that her challenge was completely a request, not a demand. Nobody was forcing anyone.

All in all, this seems a cool idea and we can see the debates going on which is the most important for now. The mere concept of addressing the privilege whites have over the blacks is an initiation to revolution; be it digitally alone.
