- Elon Musk’s Alarming Starlink Hint to Ukraine Sparks Feud with Polish Minister, Poland might seek alternative Starlink providers if SpaceX is unreliable.
- Marco Rubio defended Musk and urged gratitude from Poland.
- Starlink is vital for Ukraine’s military communications.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and tech entrepreneur Elon Musk have found themselves in a disagreement with Poland’s foreign minister over the use of Musk’s Starlink satellite internet service in Ukraine. Musk stated on X that if he were to deactivate the system, the entire front line of Ukraine would collapse.
In response, Radoslaw Sikorski pointed out that Poland funds the service’s operation in Ukraine, warning that any threat to shut it down would force them to look for alternative providers.

Rubio dismissed Sikorski’s claims, suggesting he should be more grateful, while Musk referred to him as a “small man.” This exchange seems to have prompted Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk to call on allies to show respect to their less powerful partners instead of acting arrogantly.
Starlink is part of SpaceX’s effort to provide high-speed internet to underserved and remote areas and has been extensively used by the Ukrainian military. The dispute began when Musk claimed that Starlink acts as the “back of the army” and warned that
“their front line would collapse if it were turned off.”
Sikorski quickly countered, highlighting that Poland is responsible for funding the service, stating,
“the links are paid for by the Ministry, costing about $ million per year.”
He also stressed the ethical concerns of threatening a victim of aggression and indicated that if SpaceX were to become unreliable, Poland would need to explore other options.

Tech mogul Elon Musk and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio have been involved in a heated exchange with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski regarding the deployment of Musk’s Starlink internet service in Ukraine.
In a tense discussion on X this past Sunday, Sikorski noted that Poland, which covers the costs for Ukraine’s Starlink service to help resist Russia’s aggression, may have to seek other providers if Musk’s satellite service is considered an “unreliable supplier.” His comments came after Musk claimed that the Ukrainian military’s “entire front line” would be at risk.
