According to original comic book author Alice Oseman, Colman previously worked with Heartstopper director Euros Lyn on ITV’s blockbuster crime thriller Broadchurch, which is how she came to be a part of the Netflix series.
“So, when we were contemplating casting Nick’s mother, the notion was raised to cast a huge figure as Sarah Nelson, and I felt this was a ludicrous concept,” Oseman remarked of the casting.
