They reside in Tunbridge Wells and have been together since 1995. Dale resided in Walthamstow for six years before meeting Simmons, starting in 1988.
Iain officially announced his love for John seven years ago at a grandiose civil partnership event in front of 120 attendees, notably Conservative MP David Davis, who was said to weep.

Dale made his start in radio by filling in for Andrew Pierce on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Sunday Service with Fi Glover and Charlie Whelan.
He ran as a Conservative candidate for North Norfolk in the national election in May 2005 but lost to incumbent Liberal Democrat Norman Lamb.
