On Wednesday morning, deputies responded to reports that a woman in her 20s had been shot in Pine Hills, northwest of Orlando, Florida.

According to witnesses, a man approached a Spectrum News 13 news car on Wednesday and opened fire on the 9-year-old and her mother.

The second attack resulted in the deaths of a TV crew member and a 9-year-old girl, while a journalist for Spectrum News 13 and her mother were injured.

According to Spectrum News 13, Dylan Lyons, 24, died in the incident, while photojournalist Jesse Walden suffered critical injuries.

Charter Communications, Spectrum 13’s parent company, described the event as a “tragedy” for the neighborhood. Spectrum 13 reporter Celeste Springer pleaded for the public’s support.

Some reporters sobbed in front of the camera as family members and the Journalist’s fiancé gathered outside Orlando Regional Medical Center.

According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, there were 40 documented journalist deaths worldwide in 2017 and two more up until Wednesday. Only one of those occurred in the United States.

After suffering multiple stab wounds, Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Jeff German was found dead outside his house in September.

Former Clark County administrator Robert Telles has entered a not-guilty plea to a murder charge.

Karine Jean-Pierre, Washington’s press secretary, tweeted her condolences on Wednesday.

As a result of hearing about the shootings in Florida, the National Press Club expressed “horror” and urged reporters to exercise greater caution.

Dylan Lyons Shot To Death: Who Shot Him?

Keith Melvin Moses, 19, who had been accused of murder in connection with the first incident, had been detained by police. Moses is expected to face charges for the extra shootings of the four people.

Moses, according to Sheriff Mina, already has a “lengthy criminal past,” which includes burglary, grand theft, aggravated battery, and assault with a deadly weapon charges.

Moses knew the woman killed earlier in the day, but Sheriff Mina said they didn’t see a reason for the shootings.

While there hasn’t previously been any violence against the media in the region, sheriff Mina said an investigation is underway.

In fact, there has undoubtedly been violence against journalists in the country and abroad, Mina said. Put the puzzle pieces together and determine why this occurred will certainly be investigated.
