Karim Kamoun, a Russian-Tunisian, has a storied sporting past. He is an accomplished fencer who has participated in numerous international tournaments for Tunisia.

In 2017, Kamoun, who also has a master’s degree in sports science, decided to leave the athletics field to become Jabeur’s physical trainer.

The couple became engaged for two years before getting married in 2015. Kamoun and Jabeur are still residing in Tunisia’s coastal city of Sousse.
