Her cousin Ronald Jeffrey Hextall is a former Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender and executive who played for 13 years in the National Hockey League (NHL). Ronald is currently the general manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the NHL.

Moreover, Ron was the winner of the Vezina Trophy in 1987 and is in the Flyers’ Hall of Fame. The Penguins hired him as their new general manager on February 9, 2021.
