Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, also known as the 2012 Newtown shooting, took place in Newtown, Connecticut.
On 14 December 2012, 28 people were killed and two injured in a tragic incident.
It became one of the deadliest school shootings in American history.
Adam Lanza killed his mother at his home before shooting 20 kids and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School. He then committed suicide.

Sandy Hook Shooting Suspect
Adam Lanza was the suspect in the 2012 Newtown shooting. Lanza carried an AR-15, a shotgun, two semiautomatic pistols, and 100 rounds of ammunition.
Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown is the kindergarten that teaches up to fourth grade. Lanza drove his mother’s car to the public school.
Around 9:30 am, the suspect entered the school through a window beside the locked security door.
He was immediately confronted by Sandy Hook psychologist Mary Sherlach and school principal Dawn Hochsprung.
Two women were Lanza’s first victims, as he shot and killed them both.
Gunfire sounds were broadcast to individual classrooms via the school’s public address system.
In order to safeguard their students, the teachers immediately implemented lockdown protocols.
The teachers hid their students inside bathroom closets, barricaded doors with furniture, and hid them with their own bodies.
Teacher Lauren Rousseau was there with several other students when Lanza entered one of the classrooms. He killed her and 14 other children.
As he made his way to a second classroom, Victoria Soto had already hid her first-grade students in a closet.
By telling him her class was on the other side of the building, Soto attempted to misdirect the shooter, but he killed her and six more students.
In less than five minutes, Lanza fired 154 rounds, killing 26 innocent people.
As soon as the school made its first emergency call around 9:35 a.m., law enforcement personnel responded within minutes.
After catching a glimpse of the incident, police officers were horrified. Later, they discovered Lanza’s dead body, as he had taken his own life with a handgun.

Jackie Matthews, who twice survived mass shootings, said it was “incomprehensible.” She now lives to tell tales of two school shootings.
The MCU student witnessed the act and was inside a campus building across the street when the shooter killed three people.
The horrifying incident occurred after ten years Matthews, 21, endured the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings.
She posted and expressed her thoughts in a viral TikTok on Tuesday.
In the video, the MSU student said that during the school shooting, she developed a PTSD fracture in her right lower back.
The horrific attack started when Adam Lanza, 20, killed his own mother, Nancy Lanza, in their Newtown home.
The son fatally shot his mother four times with a 22-caliber rifle.
His mother, Nancy Lanza, purchased the AR-15 rifle — the civilian semi-auto version of the military M16 assault rifle.
Also, Adam found several other weapons, including two handguns and a shotgun he used later that day.
Before he left his home, the shooter destroyed his device’s hard drive, thinking it would make it difficult for law enforcement personnel and investigators to gather evidence.
