Ryan was seen lifting a 20-kilogram plate and carrying a dumbbell on his back as he walked towards the victim who was lying on a bench in the courtroom.
He jumped towards the victim and slammed a weight against a fellow gym-head, goer’s knocking the victim to the ground.
"The act of dropping a 20kg weight onto the head of the victim was an extremely dangerous act. The victim was vulnerable as he was lying on his back and had weights in his hands."

Ryan appears to have hurt his left ankle and walks away with the victim’s face in his hands. He eventually returned to the man and summoned an ambulance to assist him.
Ryan’s actions were described as a “very dangerous act” by John Burns, who sentenced him to 19 months in prison.
The court heard that the couple’s relationship was “friendly” and “cordial,” and that the unprovoked attack had no motive.
Ryan claimed that the incident was an “accident,” but admitted that his actions were deliberate, according to the court.
