Reports suggest Paul “Pablo” Severtson, who worked as a paraprofessional at Cherry Creek, West Middle School, has been arrested on accusation of sexual assault.

According to CBSNews, Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office arrested Cherry Creek High School’s softball coach today on felony criminal solicitation.

During the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office discovered Severtson was trying to convince his victim to create and send him nude pictures and films during the investigation.

The accused used three KIK profiles on the social media chat platform, using the names Tyson Richard and TYSONHELP, Reggie Collins and the user identity REGGIEBBC11, and Jordan Styme with the user name JSTYME8080. Severtson pretended to be between 22 and 23 years old and occasionally in shape.

Paul “Pablo” Severtson, 37, also worked as a paraprofessional at Cherry Creek, West Middle School, and a small group of students at Cherry Creek Elevation.

Severtson coached the girl’s softball team at Cherry Creek High and the Colorado Styxx girl’s softball club. He has coached at Heritage High, Littleton High, and Chaparral High Schools from November 2017 through August 2020.

Investigators found that Severtson was attempting to persuade his victim to produce and send nude images and videos of herself to him.

In March of 2022, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office got information from the Hanover County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office that an underage girl died by suicide. Investigators later discovered she had been talking with Paul “Pablo” Severtson.

On July 20, a team of investigators from the ACSO Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit executed a search warrant at Severtson’s home. The accused took him into custody, and several items of evidence were seized from his home.

Cherry Creek Schools says Severtson underwent a criminal background check and reference checks before his employment. Cherry Creek says the process did not raise any concerns.

In a statement, the school district said that Severtson’s arrest was unrelated to any students.

According to a sheriff’s news release, the accused got arrested Wednesday after investigators with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Official executed a search warrant at his home, where Sheriff’s seized evidence.

In Colorado, Severtson coached the girl’s softball team at Cherry Creek High School. The Cherry Creek School District fired him on Wednesday.

Severtson also coached the Colorado Styxx girl’s softball club. Before coaching in Cherry Creek, he coached at Heritage High School, Littleton High School, and Chaparral High School from November 2017 through August 2020.

Severtson was booked into the Arapahoe County jail on Wednesday on an investigation of felony criminal solicitation.

Meanwhile, no charges have been imposed on the accused, and he is in custody for further investigation.

According to the source, PC 241 states that this behavior is penalized by a fine of no more than $1,000 and a jail sentence of no more than six months. According to PC 243, a battery carries a maximum fine of $2,000 and a six-month jail sentence.
