Peter Crouch, the former striker for Liverpool and England, made a surprise guest appearance during ITV’s coverage of the Cheltenham Festival, leaving viewers stunned with his remarks about his wife, Abbey Clancy.

Known for his love of horse racing, Crouch was at Cheltenham to soak up the excitement on the second day of the Festival. He watched as Rachael Blackmore led Air of Entitlement to victory in the opening Novices’ Hurdle at 1:30 PM.

Before the race kicked off, Crouch chatted with ITV presenter Oli Bell, who probably didn’t expect the answer to his question. Bell asked if Crouch had ever ridden a horse, to which Crouch replied,

“Yeah, I’ve been on a few horses. Abbey [Clancy, his wife] likes to ride…” He quickly added, “Horses!”

Both laughed as they tried to regain their composure to wrap up the segment, with Crouch joking,

“I’ve been thrown off a couple of times!”

Bell responded,

“Alright, we’ll leave it at that!”

ITV shared the clip on Twitter, prompting one viewer to comment, “Crouchy is absolutely hilarious.” Another chimed in, “Cheers for that Crouchy,” while a third added, “Peter Crouch is a national treasure.”
