David Schechter is leaving WFAA as per the announcement from his colleague and him. He will be joining a new company in the field of journalism as per the presenters.
David was the reporter, host, and co-producer of WFAA-TV and TEGNA Media’s Verify Road Trip. He drove actual people so they could pose their inquiries, observe what he observed, and draw their conclusions.
Verify was created to offer viewers a storytelling style that is very different from what local news has often provided.
David is also a University of Michigan alumnus, a two-time Scripps Howard winner, a national Murrow Award winner, and a Poynter Institute Ethics Fellow.
According to his Linkedin profile, David received the DuPont-Columbia Silver Baton, regarded as the Pulitzer Prize for broadcast journalism, in 2021 for his coverage of climate change.
He has won the national Edward R. Murrow Documentary Award twice and the Scripps Howard National Journalism Award thrice.
Where Is He Going To Work, Or Did He Leave Calling Sick?
David Schechter did not reveal where he would join after leaving the channel. Many speculate that he will join the field of journalism.
