The recent case from Florida has resurfaced in the media after a man called Daniel Lighty continued to shoot officers 15 times.
And, following the shooting, he dialed 911 to surrender.
Only through the “grace of God” was no one injured when a man opened fire on three deputies, reloaded, and fired again at a carwash along busy State Road 60, Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister said.
The Thursday afternoon shootout ended when the armed man returned to his minivan, dialed 911 and spoke with a crisis negotiator who assured him he could surrender without being shot.
“He was irate about mental health treatment he had recently received at one of the local hospitals,” Chronister said at a news conference.
The man was identified as Daniel Lighty, 35, of South Carolina.
A half-mile stretch of S.R. 60 — also known as Brandon Boulevard, the community’s main thoroughfare — was shut down between Bryan Road and Glendale Drive after the shooting. All lanes had reopened by 5 p.m.

Lighty came into the Washed Up Brandon Carwash, 834 E Brandon Blvd., at 12:45 p.m. and began shooting a Facebook Live video, according to Chronister.
Lighty is shown in the ” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>four-minute video asking someone about his career ambitions and encouraging him to pursue what he likes rather than going to work.
Lighty is asked to leave by a carwash employee. “Hey, if you don’t step away from me right now, I’m going to shoot you,” Lighty shouts.
After that, Lighty calls 911 and said that he was ready to surrender and could have done it before if there would have been no shooting.

Daniel Lighty is yet to mention his parents and his family.
From his Facebook account, it is found that he was already in a relationship with somebody.
Daniel’s girlfriend’s name is found to be Alicia Wilkinson.
Other than her name on Facebook, it is found that she is a counsel, educations, and family care specialist.
Alicia is still yet to comment on the actions of her boyfriend, as she is yet to be presented in the media.
For now, other than Daniel’s girlfriend, there are not many detials about his other family members or parents.
